ShopTek Scale Modular Garage Cabinet Set 2

Here is the companion to our first ShopTek set release, and this one is another core unit to which you can build around. It features a standing style work bench with a removable face to hide a battery or other stashable items, slat-wall paneling above the work surface, & overhead cabinets with a recess for undercabinet lighting. The separate vertical cabinet features a mini-fridge with removable wire shelf. The door features a recess for a piece of .040 lexan to make the glass. With a little sanding you can easily make the door open and close if desired. The fridge is designed to be illuminated by a 3mm led. As with our other cabinet set, toe-kick lighting was kept in mind when we designed these. 

Mix and match, or only print the items you want! 3D printed projects that are labor intensive can discourage people, so we came up with a design that lets you choose just how detailed you want to make your modular cabinets. You can sand and paint the door faces, or just print them in a different color since they are in the background of most of your pictures anyhow. How deep you dive into this project is completely up to you, but no matter how detailed you decide to make them, they'll make your scale garage way more realistic. We chose the scaling to work with most 1/10 drift & touring cars, scale crawlers, and 7.5" action figures. Since scale garages are used primarily for photos, the cabinet doors are either open or closed depending on how you install them. They can be modified to open by sanding the hinge side edge of the door. We chose to make them stationary for symmetry reasons when they are shut. The hinges are made using 1/16 steel rod. Drop the rod into the holes in the top of the cabinets and cut to length. The scale slat-wall under the overhead cabinet uses 1/16 steel rod/ piano wire to make your own hooks. All cabinets and work benches are designed with at  little more mass down low, to help keep them in place in your scale garage diorama. We really tried to make this as realistic and detailed as possible without it becoming a giant time sucking void, rather than a fun DIY item.
